Finalist in The National Contemporary Jewellery Award 2014

I have recently had my brooch entitled “Shelter” chosen as a finalist in The National Contemporary Jewellery Award 2014. This biennial exhibition and acquisition prize features the best contemporary jewellery from Australia. It has been a real honor to be selected as a finalist in the National Contemporary Jewellery Award. This nomination elevates wooden jewellery within the overall field of contemporary jewellery.

Shelter (brooch) is part of a body of work which explores the relationship between architecture and landscape. Man takes shelter in a small concrete building, outside, the untamed, the wild and the unknown play freely. This piece of wooden jewellery is made from ebony, wenge, silver and cast concrete.

The exhibition will open at Griffith Regional Art Gallery 5th of September.  The exhibition will also tour, the locations and dates are
